Ravi Ramachandran
Managing Partner
Ravi Ramachandran is the key principal at Synchronous Capital and had spent his entire professional career across energy and commodity trading firms across the globe prior to forming Synchronous Capital. Until 2019, he worked at Citigroup Global Markets where he was a Managing Director running the build out of their electronic trading business for commodities. Prior to that, he ran Citigroup’s Global Investor Structuring business and Commodity Investors Sales in London for the EMEA region. In this capacity, he led teams that were responsible for the creation, marketing, and sales of commodity linked investor products for clients from sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, hedge funds to ultra-high net worth and retail investors. The products created by his group had over $3 bn in AUM invested in them at their peak. Ravi started off his career at Enron as a software developer on their power trading systems before transitioning to commercial roles on Wall Street.
Much like when considering investments in commodities, investments in real estate begin with an understanding of the fundamentals of supply and demand. Ravi brings this discipline in understanding and analyzing fundamentals to the real estate investment space. In addition, with his experience in building businesses within large organizations, he understands the importance of execution in vetting sponsorship teams and their business plans: strategy is nothing without execution.
He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Industrial Engineering with a focus on operations research from Texas A&M University in College Station and subsequently completed an MBA at Columbia University in New York.
Ravi resides in Bellaire, TX with his wife, son, and daughter.
